A structured review of whether dark-triad traits, negative affect, mental disorder, or social dominance predict terrorist affiliation — and of how weakly the literature supports any of them.
The review is organized around four competing hypotheses rather than a single thesis: whether elevated dark-triad traits raise the probability of joining a terrorist organization; whether negative personality traits correlate with it; whether mental disorder relates to terroristic behaviour; and whether social dominance orientation does.
